Health Literacy Month is once again taking over October here at Engaging the Patient. The nation’s leading literacy experts are on-board with the latest insights on topics like the Universal Precautions Toolkit and the National Action Plan to Improve Health Literacy. Last year’s blog series was extremely popular, and we’re pleased to build on that success with over a dozen guest bloggers lined up, including:
- Cindy Brach, Senior Health Policy Researcher at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
- Cynthia Baur, Ph.D, Senior Health Literacy Advisor at the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
- Gary Schwitzer, publisher of HealthNewsReview.org
- Dr. Rima Rudd, Harvard University Senior Lecturer on Society, Human Development, and Health
- Dr. Darren DeWalt, Assistant Professor of Medicine University of North Carolina
- Dr. Hilary Seligman, Assistant Professor of Medicine University of California San Francisco
Health Literacy Month will kick-off this Friday with Emmi Solutions Editorial Director, Geri Baumblatt. Then on Monday, we have a conversation with Cindy Brach of AHRQ so stay tuned for more information.
